Hi, I’m Christine Lewis…

A Yoga Teacher, Therapist and certified Coach who is passionate about empowering and supporting women to reclaim their health and wellbeing and discover greater purpose, fulfilment and joy so they can THRIVE.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a burning curiosity about human capability and potential. This interest led me into a career in Human Resources.

With twenty years’ experience in the Organisation Development, training, coaching and occupational assessment field, I’ve enabled people to identify and harness their strengths, gain clarity on their values and purpose and helped to facilitate the mindset and behaviour shifts to support people to up level and realise their potential.

Having had a successful corporate career, outwardly I appeared to have it all – a six-figure salary living and working in one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world, a supportive husband and family and amazing opportunities to travel the world.

Inwardly though, it was a different story…

Since my teens, I’d experienced periodic anxiety and insomnia, which continued into my adult life. Early in 2015, during trip to Nepal to see the Himalayas for the first time, I arranged private yoga tuition desperate to find relief from anxiety and crippling insomnia. That trip proved to be a pivotal turning point in my life in many ways!

After returning home, I felt drawn to practice yoga and meditation every day. It sounds cliche, but it became my salvation. Yoga enabled me to find much needed balance in my life – physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Unexpectedly, my yoga and meditation practice prompted a re-evaluation of my life and priorities.

Early in 2017,  I decided that I wasn’t going to continue depleting myself and giving my talents and energy to someone else’s purpose. So, I quit my corporate job to pursue a more purposeful and balanced life. I redefined success – this time on my terms!

Having experienced first-hand the powerful healing and transformational power of yoga, I felt compelled to understand why these practices made me feel more balanced, healthier and happier than I had felt ever before in my life. A few months later, I returned to Nepal to complete a yoga teacher training programme to become a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT).

Shortly after starting my initial yoga teacher training, my life purpose revealed itself. My path suddenly became crystal clear. I came to the realisation that the expertise I’d gained in my career in training, coaching and occupational assessment and psychology had a valuable role to play in my next chapter. Life Elevated was born out of the desire to bridge yogic models of health and wellbeing and psychological approaches to offer an integrative and truly holistic approach to health and wellbeing and personal growth – one that empowers women to reclaim their health and wellbeing and discover greater purpose, fulfilment and joy in their lives so they can THRIVE.

Since my initial Yoga Teacher Training, I’ve committed to deepening my knowledge of yogic science and other therapeutic modalities, completing further training in Yoga Therapy, Ayurveda and sound healing in schools in India and the UK; integrating these modalities into my personal practice to enhance my own health and wellbeing and into my therapeutic work with clients. I am currently training to become an IAYT certified Yoga Therapist with Yoga Therapy International, Vancouver, Canada and the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram (KYM), Chennai, India following the unique yoga therapy principles and teaching style of TKV Desikachar.
